Eintracht Frankfurt 1-5 Liverpool: Arne Slot's side bounce back with emphatic win
It could be a win that puts Liverpool's season back on track...
Liverpool secured an emphatic 5-1 victory away at Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday evening.
The Reds came into the game off the back of four consecutive defeats to Crystal Palace, Galatasaray, Chelsea and Manchester United.
It looked like they could be on track to suffer the same fate when former Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen put the German side 1-0 up after 26 minutes.
But Liverpool responded immediately. Hugo Ekitike raced through on goal and slotted the ball through the keeper’s legs to level the score.
Defensive duo Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate both powered home headers from corners to give Liverpool a 3-1 lead at half-time.
Record signing Alexander Isak was forced off during the interval with a groin injury but the Reds carried on their demolition job.
Florian Wirtz grabbed his first goal involvements since the FA Community Shield as he setup goals for Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai.
The likes of Federico Chiesa and Mohamed Salah both had chances off the bench but couldn’t find the target.
