Embarrassing Liverpool Have No Plan Under Slot

Strip away the excuses, and the reality is brutal.
Liverpool 1-1 Spurs
xG: Liverpool 1.66, Spurs 1.21.
But these numbers almost flatter Liverpool.
Tottenham arrived battered by injuries and confidence, a team enduring a dreadful season and barely able to name a proper bench. And yet Liverpool produced something weak, shapeless and embarrassing.
This wasn’t bad luck. This wasn’t a tactical battle. This was a side with no attacking identity whatsoever.
Liverpool today appeared to have one attacking plan.
Give the ball to the 17-year-old and hope something happens.
That’s it!
Possession meanders around harmlessly. Midfield passes go nowhere. The forwards look disconnected. Eventually, the ball is pushed wide to the teenager, and the entire attack waits for his rescue act.
That isn’t clever management.
It’s tactical bankruptcy.
This decline has been obvious since November. Anyone still clinging to last season’s title as proof that Arne Slot must be the right man needs to stop pretending.
Football doesn’t run on nostalgia.
And when a depleted, dreadful Tottenham side can walk into a match like this at Anfield, and leave with a point without ever looking frightened, the conclusion is unavoidable.
Liverpool are garbage, and their manager has no clear way to stop them being so.
