European Night, Anfield Comfort as Liverpool Stroll into the Last 16
Liverpool 6–0 Qarabağ as Salah scores and Slot’s side find comfort on a European night.
Six Goals, No Stress on a European Night at Anfield
Liverpool enjoyed their most comfortable night of the season under the Anfield lights, dismantling Qarabağ 6–0 to book automatic qualification for the Champions League last 16.
Two first-half goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Florian Wirtz set the tone early, removing any jeopardy before the break. Mohamed Salah then ended his goal drought in style just after half-time, curling a superb free-kick into the top corner and celebrating in front of a rapturous Kop.
From there, it became an exercise in control and confidence. Hugo Ekitiké raced clear to make it four, Mac Allister added his second from close range, and substitute Federico Chiesa completed the rout late on.
For all the recent domestic noise, this felt familiar. Calm, authoritative and European. Liverpool will not solve every problem with a night like this, but qualification secured and confidence restored is no bad outcome at all.
