Liverpool 2-1 Everton: Ryan Gravenberch and Hugo Ekitike Scores as Reds Clinch Win

For the first time this season, Liverpool didn’t clinch all three points in the closing stages of the game. However, in typical Merseyside Derby fashion, you could still feel the tension around Anfield.
Liverpool started brightly and found the breakthrough with a moment of brilliance from Ryan Gravenberch. The Dutch midfielder latched onto a pinpoint lofted ball from Mohamed Salah and brilliantly guided the ball past Jordan Pickford on the half-volley.
Shortly after, Gravenberch turned provider to slot the ball through to Hugo Ekitike, who calmly rolled the ball through Pickford’s legs to double the Reds’ lead.
After 30 minutes it looked like Liverpool were about to put the Toffees to the sword, but that wasn’t quite the case.
On the hour mark, Idrissa Gana Gueye smacked the ball home after a neat layoff from Iliman N’Diaye. After that, Everton massively lacked any real tenacity or creativity, which will have undoubtedly frustrated Moyes.
Liverpool saw out the win in the end to maintain their 100% record in the Premier League, with five wins from five and to stay at the top of the Premier League table.
