Liverpool 3-0 Brighton: Reds Progress into the FA Cup Fifth Round at Anfield
Jones, Szoboszlai and Salah were all on the scoresheet...
Liverpool booked their place in the FA Cup fifth round with a composed 3-0 victory over Brighton at Anfield, delivering a strong performance. Arne Slot’s side grew steadily into the contest after a lively Brighton start, finding their rhythm as the first half unfolded.
Curtis Jones opened the scoring in the 42nd minute, finishing neatly from a Milos Kerkez cross to give Liverpool a deserved lead at the break. Brighton threatened in spells and created moments of pressure, yet Liverpool’s defensive organisation and Alisson’s reliability ensured the hosts stayed in control.
The second half brought greater authority from Liverpool. Dominik Szoboszlai doubled the advantage in the 56th minute, completing a flowing team move after a clever touch from Mohamed Salah. Soon after, Salah added a third from the penalty spot, sealing the FA Cup tie and once again highlighting his influence in attack.
Brighton battled throughout but struggled to convert opportunities, extending a challenging run of form. For Liverpool, they head into the next round.
