Liverpool 4-0 Galatasaray: Reds Hit Top Gear to Reach Quarter-Finals
Dominant second-half display sees Liverpool overturn first-leg deficit and rediscover attacking identity ahead of PSG test
Liverpool delivered a statement performance at Anfield, sweeping aside Galatasaray 4-0 to secure a 4-1 aggregate win and book their place in the Champions League quarter-finals against PSG.
Despite dominating the first half, Arne Slot’s side only had a Dominik Szoboszlai goal to show for it and were left frustrated after Mohamed Salah saw a penalty saved. But the response after the break was emphatic.
Hugo Ekitike doubled the lead with a composed finish before Ryan Gravenberch added a third moments later, putting Liverpool firmly in control. Salah then capped the night in style, curling home his 50th Champions League goal to seal a convincing victory.
This was one of Liverpool’s most complete performances in weeks, with improved cohesion in attack and a sharper edge in front of goal.
PSG now await in the quarter-finals, where a sterner test will demand more of the same.
