Victor Osimhen Is Tempting, and He Might Be the Right Move
If Isak or Álvarez are out of reach, Liverpool should push for Osimhen, especially with Núñez and Chiesa in Napoli’s sights.
Victor Osimhen might not be the perfect fit, but he is a serious option, and if Liverpool cannot land Alexander Isak or Julián Álvarez, they should move for him with intent.
Napoli want Darwin Núñez. They are also linked with Federico Chiesa. The pieces are in play. Liverpool could use that interest to bring Osimhen the other way. We reportedly tried to sign him on loan in January, and while there are valid concerns, such as his reliance on space or moments of unpredictability, they do not outweigh what he can bring.
Osimhen is not a project. He is a weapon. Fast, powerful, aggressive in the press, and dominant in the air, he has the raw tools and the presence to lead a front line. He has produced under pressure and carried big expectations. He does not need building up, he needs a platform.
He is not Isak, who offers clean link-up play and tactical fluidity. He is not Álvarez, who moves like clockwork in a free-slowing system. But he is the next best available, and under the right guidance, Osimhen can be devastating.
If Núñez and possibly Díaz are sold, Liverpool cannot afford hesitation. They need someone who sets the tone, not someone who drifts in and out. Osimhen brings that edge. It may not be the safest signing, but if the top targets are unavailable, going bold is better than standing still.
