It’s finally happening. Liverpool are actually signing a South American wonderkid.
After a myriad of names being linked over the years from pretty much every country on the continent, Liverpool have finally got one over the line, and in turn Michael Edwards has successfully accomplished his mission.
The club’s chief has always been adamant that South America is a market for Liverpool to explore.
Over the years under Edwards, Liverpool have grown and expanded their scouting network on the continent.
And the fruits of those labours have seen the Reds land Samuel Martinez.
Who is Samuel Martinez?
He plays for Atletico Nacional’s U20 side and caught the eye at the U17 Copa America earlier this year.
Martinez led his side to become the champions of the tournament while registering an assist in the final, the semi-final and the quarter-final.
