Why Elliot Anderson Should Be Liverpool’s Priority Midfield Signing This Summer
The Forest midfielder leads the Premier League in possession wins while ranking among the best progressive passers. That combination could transform Liverpool’s midfield.
Arne Slot is fixated on adding more speed and one vs one ability to Liverpool’s attack. This makes a lot of sense but it’s not the only area of weakness the Reds’ head-coach and the club’s recruitment should be focused on in the summer.
Liverpool’s Midfield Problem Runs Deeper Than Attack
For a long time now, Liverpool have lacked intensity in their midfield. Add to that the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold, and the Reds are not only missing intensity but creativity and progressive passing ability as well, especially when building out from the back.
Alexander-Arnold was able to play a role in these aspects of the game even from right-back but in his absence, Liverpool need a midfielder to take on the task.
