Two weeks after the transfer deadline concluded Liverpool have signed a midfielder, and he happens to be another Hungarian.
Liverpool confirmed the arrival of Patrik Farkas, who becomes the fifth Hungarian currently on the books at Anfield.
Farkas joins Dominik Szoboszlai, Milos Kerkez, Armin Pecsi and his younger brother, Erik.
It’s not the first time he has played for Liverpool. Farkas spent 18 months at the club between 2020 and 2022, playing for the Reds’ U16 side before he joined Blackburn Rovers.
Now, Liverpool have decided to re-sign him amid a shortage of midfield options at U21 level. Farkas has spent the whole summer playing for the young Reds in pre-season, and he sat on the bench against West Ham in the Reds’ first Premier League 2 game after his arrival.

Just like his younger brother Erik, Patrik is know for his vision and excellent technical quality.
For Blackburn Rover’s U18 and U21 side, Farkas averaged 0.14 xA per 90 minutes, and 1.34 passes into the opposition’s penalty area per 90 minutes.
