Wolves 1-3 Liverpool: Rio Ngumoha Shines as Reds Reach FA Cup Quarter Finals
Andy Robertson, Mohamed Salah and Curtis Jones all made it into the scoresheet...
Liverpool booked their place in the FA Cup quarter finals with a convincing 3-1 victory over Wolves at Molineux, producing a far sharper performance after the break to settle the tie. Just days after losing a league fixture at the same ground, Arne Slot’s side showed improved composure and attacking quality when it mattered most.
The opening half followed a familiar pattern for Liverpool this season. They dominated possession and territory but struggled to convert that control into clear opportunities. Young forward Rio Ngumoha offered energy on the left and tested the Wolves goalkeeper early, yet the game drifted toward the interval without a breakthrough.
Everything changed shortly after half time. Andy Robertson sparked Liverpool into life with a superb strike from the edge of the box to open the scoring. The Scotland captain then delivered the decisive moment of the match less than two minutes later, providing a precise cross for Mohamed Salah to finish at the back post.
Curtis Jones later added Liverpool’s third goal with a composed curling finish, effectively ending Wolves’ hopes of an FA Cup comeback. Hwang Hee chan scored a late consolation in stoppage time, but the outcome had already been settled as Liverpool progressed comfortably.
